Data Center and the Cloud Field Hearing

On Tuesday, May 14, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's Subcommittee on Government Operations called a Field Hearing entitled "Data Centers on the Cloud: Is the Government Optimizing New Information Technologies Opportunities to Save Taxpayers Money?"  Steve O'Keeffe testified before the committee, on behalf of the MeriTalk community.  Please see here for details on the full hearing.

 

Witnesses testified on the benefits and challenges to data center optimization and the cloud, as well as the associated cost savings. Mission-Critical Apps
February 21, 2013, Washington, D.C. The fourth MeriTalk Cloud Computing Exchange meeting addressed challenges associated with moving mission-critical applications to the cloud, as well as other factors prohibiting movement to the cloud.  The meeting was sponsored by EMC and VMware, and featured speaker Steve Cooper, former Deputy CIO, Federal Aviation Administration.

 

FedRAMP: A Public Inquiry
November 13, 2012, Washington, D.C. The third MeriTalk Cloud Computing Exchange meeting focused on the FedRAMP program and its role in enabling the Federal cloud computing transition, along with its effect on public vs. private clouds. The meeting was sponsored by CCX member Northrop Grumman and featured speaker Richard Spires, Chief Information Officer, Department of Homeland Security.
