Darryl Perkinson was elected National President of the Federal Managers Association (FMA) in March 2006 and was re-elected in March 2008. He is presently the Nuclear Training Manager at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) serving in the Consolidated Training Division (Code 900T). He is assigned to work on several initiatives for the Department of the Navy. As a member of the Shipyard Training Council, Darryl is actively engaged with the Corporate Training initiatives being pursued by the Naval Shipyards. He is serving as the chairman of the Training Hub Team for NNSY's Vision 2035. He has been working on several internal teams for the Shipyard in the execution of its High Performance Leadership System dealing with Human Resources and E-learning efforts. At FMA he has led the pursuit of key initiatives regarding Pay-for-Performance, Managerial Training, Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) Sick Leave Credit and other agency centric issues. He serves as a member of several boards including the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund, the Presidents Council of the Council for Excellence in Government, the Employees Thrift Advisory Council, the Public Employees Roundtable and as the principal of FMA on the Government Managers Coalition. He has testified before Congressional committees on a variety of pressing issues as well as before the National Commission on the Public Service (a.k.a., the Volcker Commission).
