Tanya Simms

Tanya Simms is the Director for Cyber Policy and Programs at the White House’s Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD), focusing on critical infrastructure and critical systems cybersecurity. She joins ONCD from the National Security Agency (NSA), where she has spent more than a decade working both SIGINT and Cybersecurity missions. She stood up and led various analytic and strategic efforts from NSA’s handling of the 2016 Russian cyber interference of the U.S. elections to critical infrastructure resiliency efforts to providing cyber defense strategies and solutions to the owners and operators of our nation’s most sensitive systems across the Federal government – national security systems.
Tanya is a strong advocate for diversity within the Intelligence Community (IC), establishing the first IC-wide network for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders – the IC Asian Pacific Americans Network (APAN).
Tanya received her Bachelors in Government and China and Asia Pacific Studies from Cornell University and Masters from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
