Donald W. Hewatt is the director of the Workload and Cloud Solutions Practice for HPE Enterprise Services, U.S. Public Sector. In this role, he is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled practice principals, offering managers and cloud architects to develop and bring to market solutions to enable federal, state and local governmental agencies to reap the transformational benefits of a hybrid IT environment.
He has over twenty years of technology experience relating to infrastructure, networking and security. He also brings a broad range of leadership experience, including conceptualizing and driving cloud requirements, instituting product features to maximize growth in revenue and market penetration, and partnering with senior sales leadership to ensure alignment between product and revenue objectives.
Prior to joining HPE in 2015, he was the director of public sector cloud product strategy for Verizon Communications, where he held a series of progressively responsible positions to include leading IT and security engineering architects supporting public sector IT business for Verizon Terremark, and managing security and IT sales engineering as part of the Verizon Business division. He has also been employed by MCI Telecommunications, WorldCom, UUNet Technologies and GTE Government Systems during that tumultuous period of mergers and acquisitions within the industry.
Hewatt holds a B.S. in electrical engineering technology from Georgia Southern University, and lives in Purcellville, Va.
