Morgan Adamski has been appointed to serve as the new executive director of U.S. Cyber Command – one of the 11 unified combatant commands of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) – according to a May 3 announcement.
She will begin the new job in early June and lead “strategic initiatives to advance CYBERCOM’s capabilities, talent management and partnerships,” Cyber Command said. The executive director position at Cyber Command is the highest civilian position in the organization’s command structure, and the third highest position overall.
“I am thrilled to be joining the amazing team at U.S. Cyber Command,” Adamski said, “and contributing to their success of securing the cyberspace domain for the U.S. and our allies.”
Adamski currently has more than 15 years of experience working in Federal cybersecurity, including at the National Security Agency (NSA) as the Director of the Cybersecurity Collaboration Center (CCC) and deputy for Strategic Mission Management in NSA’s Cybersecurity Directorate.
As the Director of the CCC, she focused on co-creating the cybersecurity tradecraft with collaboration from the private industry to shape how the U.S. looks at cybersecurity defense.
“Over the past four years, I’ve been honored to serve as the Director of the NSA Cybersecurity Collaboration Center. The CCC has changed the narrative on U.S. intelligence sharing with the private sector,” she said on a LinkedIn post.
“I’m excited for my next opportunity, cheering on the CCC from US Cyber Command. Our partnership will only grow but without any doubt, the CCC is in the best hands with my team,” she added.
