Vice Admiral Nancy Norton will hand over command of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) on Feb. 26, the admiral said today.

The handover will cap Admiral Norton’s 34-year U.S. Navy career, the last three of which she spent heading DISA.

Late last year, the Senate confirmed  Maj. Gen. Robert Skinner to become the next head of DISA, with a promotion to lieutenant general.  Skinner was chief of staff at DISA from 2014 to 2015, and most recently oversaw command, control, communications, and cyber operations for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii.

During remarks to the press late today, Adm. Norton talked about her “amazing, three-year tour” as DISA director and commander of Joint Force Headquarters DODIN. “I have loved every minute of this position,” she said. “It’s been an amazing opportunity to lead such a fantastic group of people and all of the important missions that we that we are conducting.”
