The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has awarded a six-year, $276 million dollar contract to ECS Federal to develop the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dashboard, which will enable better visibility into the data generated by sensors, according to a post on the Federal Procurement Data System.
The contract, awarded on May 24, sets a ceiling of $276 million for the development of Federal and agency-level dashboards for data from the CDM program.
“ECS Federal, LLC, will provide a total integrated technology solution for the CDM Federal and Agency dashboards, and will provide DHS with an integrated Dashboard solution for continuous monitoring and mitigation of cyber threats and vulnerabilities to the Federal.gov environment by expanding and enhancing the current instance of the Federal Dashboard through a suite of integrated hardware and software tools resulting in a ‘CDM Dashboard Ecosystem,'” a CISA spokesperson told MeriTalk.
Kevin Cox, program manager for CDM, noted during an event on May 22 that the dashboard might “take a few years to get everything in place.” Fully operationalizing the CDM Dashboard is the one of main goals of the program management office, as Cox noted during an April speech. With the dashboard under development, Cox recently noted that ensuring good data quality from CDM sensors is also key.
“At the end of the day it’s about the data,” he said, adding, “if the data is good you can do a lot of things.”
