Congress Passes Continuing Resolution to Fund Government Until Dec. 21

The Congress passed a continuing resolution this afternoon to keep the Federal government fully funded through December 21, averting a potential shutdown on December 7. The continuing resolution, agreed to after the death of president George H.W. Bush, will push the funding fight back two additional weeks, as Democrats and Republicans debate over the funding for fiscal year 2019.
