The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arm is looking for contractors who can help the agency move foreign exchange student records completely online.
According to a request for information (RFI) published on beta.SAM.gov, the chosen contractor would support the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) in moving “to a 100% electronic environment,” and assisting with data, documents, and electronic submissions. The contractor would also support SEVP in “administrative and configuration support.”
“SEVP is a part of the Homeland Security Investigations Division of ICE and acts as a bridge for government organizations that have an interest in information on nonimmigrants whose primary reason for coming to the United States is to be students,” says a draft performance work statement attached to the RFI. “SEVP is required to support and collect information relating to foreign students and exchange visitor participants during the course of their stay in the United States.”
Those who are interested in supporting SEVP in managing this information and moving students’ records online can respond with specific records management applications and training examples.
Responses are due by 10 a.m. on April 14.
