EAC Gains Quorum With New Members

The Senate voted to confirm Benjamin Hovland and Donald Palmer as commissioners of the Election Assistance Commission (EAC), allowing the commission to hold a quorum for the first time since March. The new commissioners round out the four positions at the top of the EAC, joining current commissioners Christy McCormick and Thomas Hicks. While the addition of new members will allow for more action from the agency, the EAC is currently inactive, due to the partial government shutdown.
