TechNet announced Wednesday that Ed Knight, executive vice president and global chief legal and policy officer for Nasdaq, has joined TechNet’s Executive Council. TechNet describes itself as a “national, bipartisan network of technology CEOs and senior executives that promotes the growth of the innovation economy by advocating a targeted policy agenda at the Federal and 50-state level.” Prior to his job as Nasdaq, Knight served as general counsel for the Department of the Treasury. “Ensuring that the U.S. has the most pro-innovation business climate in the world for startups to grow and prosper is an economic imperative that unites Nasdaq and TechNet,” said Knight in a statement. “For the U.S. tech sector to remain an engine of economic opportunity and life-enhancing innovations, we must advance public policies that help startups grow, scale, and go public, while investing in the high-skilled workforce we need to create new breakthroughs in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.  I look forward to contributing to TechNet’s advocacy efforts on these and many other issues as a member of its Executive Council.”
