According to a Dear Colleague letter from House Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., the House will vote on a continuing resolution the week of Nov. 18 to keep the Federal government open.
“This action will, unfortunately, be necessary to keep the government open as we work toward an agreement on 302(b) allocations, which will allow us to move appropriations bills that are in line with the bipartisan budget caps agreement,” Rep. Hoyer wrote. “I remain hopeful that we can finish our work and fully fund the government before the end of the year.”
In addition to the continuing resolution, the House will consider H.R. 4863 to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank in hopes of helping “ensure a level playing field for American businesses that are competing in a global economy.”
Lastly, the House will take up the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019 (H.R. 4) as well as act on the National Defense Authorization Act conference report. Rep. Hoyer states that the conference committee working on the report has concluded its work.
“The House is continuing to do important work for the people, even as our committees continue the impeachment inquiry,” Rep. Hoyer wrote. “We can, and we will, continue to make progress on critical issues while upholding our Constitutional duty.”
