Cloud security company Zscaler announced Monday that it is “in process” for FedRAMP certification, under the sponsorship of the Federal Communications Commission.
Stephen Kovac, Zscaler vice president of global governments and compliance, said gaining FedRAMP certification is “the next natural step” for the company. “Zscaler’s revolutionary technology embodies the innovation and modernization that the current administration and government agencies are striving to achieve. It is positioned to become the leader in cloud-based security and private access in the government marketplace,” he said.
The company’s two primary services, Zscaler Internet Access and Zscaler Private Access, will both be covered under the authorization. Zscaler Internet Access provides secure access to Internet and Software-as-a-Service applications from any access point, while Private Access provides secure access to internal applications without the use of a VPN.
Zscaler is targeted to be FedRAMP certified by the end of the year, according to the company press release.
