The National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced winners for Part 1 of its Career Compass Challenge, with five white papers selected to win a $5,000 award each.
Judges from NSF, Department of Interior, Department of Defense, Office of Personnel Management, and Office of Management and Budget selected the five winning concepts from a field of nearly 60 submissions to move on to Part 2 of the challenge.
Of the five concepts selected to participate in Part 2, only one will win the final award of $75,000. The purpose of the challenge is to “address the changing nature of work, and the pace of change to the types of work, needed to carry out essential missions for the American people and create the workforce for the 21st Century, starting with NSF,” the challenge website states. Part 2 of the competition opens April 15, 2019.
