As part of its quest to modernize IT capabilities across the State Department, the agency is looking for contractors to support its Cloud Program Management Office (CPMO).
In a Feb. 1 sources sought notice on Beta.Sam.gov, the State Department explained that the CPMO supports the agency’s broader cloud smart strategy by implementing and sustaining an enterprise cloud ecosystem to provide the full range of business solutions to end-users and shared service providers.
The CPMO is tasked with the development, delivery, and operations of new and existing enterprise cloud services. To meet its mission, the office manages internal business functions, solution architecture services, security compliance, and monitoring capabilities, application-level services, infrastructure capabilities, and change management synchronization. Additionally, CPMO also partners with other shared service providers across the State Department to enable its partners to deliver “direct-to-consumer cloud-based services by providing access to enterprise license contracts, a streamlined security process, single sign on, data management, and other capabilities.”
In the sources sought notice, the State Department highlighted the five tasks it was looking for contractors to perform.
- Cloud-ready application development;
- Infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, and software-as-a-service management;
- IT collaboration support;
- IT budget reporting and administrative support; and
- Special studies and expert services.
The department didn’t give too many details regarding the eventual contract; however, the department did ask interested contractors to provide sample labor categories for key program staff members with hourly rates for the period April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2026, to support the required work. Responses are due by Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. ET.
