Annette Redmond

Annette L. Redmond joined the Department of State on 3 September, 2017. She assumed the duties of the Department’s newly created Technology and Innovation Office (TIO). As Director of TIO, she provides executive leadership and management for the Department’s Intelligence Information Technology enterprise. Annette is responsible for leading the Department’s and the Intelligence and Research Bureau’s modernization efforts for their Intelligence Information Technology Enterprise in partnership with the Intelligence Community (IC). Her efforts ensure the security and protection of these networks and IT systems.

Annette has previously served in the IC and Department of Defense (DOD) for more than 30 years both as a retired Army officer and senior civilian. She most recently served in senior executive positions at Army serving as the Army’s Intelligence CIO and earlier as the Enterprise Advisor to the Commanding General (CG) of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Her duties and accomplishments have cut across many facets of information technology, data management and system interoperability. She is known for her enthusiasm, collaborative leadership style and Can-Do attitude.

Ms. Redmond holds a BA in Criminal from Norwich University, an MS in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University, and Chief Information Officer (CIO) Certification.
