Chad Poland
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency
Mr. Chad Poland is a Product Manager in CISA’s Cybersecurity Shared Services Office (CSSO). CSSO is charged with developing and delivering cybersecurity solutions to the Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB) community; state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) government agencies; and public entities. He joined CSSO in June 2022.
In this role, Mr. Poland leads the Secure Business Applications (SCuBA) Effort, which is developing guidance and resources that are used by FCEBs, SLTTs and public organizations to secure their cloud operations. Among Mr. Poland’s achievements in this role are the development and release of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace security configuration baselines (SCBs) and associated assessment tools as well as refinement and finalization of a Technical Reference Architecture and an Extensible Visibility Reference Framework.
Mr. Poland joined the CSSO after serving six years as the Associate Chief for CISA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer Enterprise Governance Division. In this role, he directed the oversight and compliance framework for CISA’s IT activities. He also was a leader in the modernization of the CISA IT Governance framework.
Preceding his federal career, Mr. Poland worked in various roles for ManTech International, supporting the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense programs, White House, and corporate IT initiatives.
Mr. Poland earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Politics from George Mason University. He resides in Falls Church, Va
