Dan Pomeroy

Dan Pomeroy currently serves as the Director of GSA’s Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) Managing Partner PMO, where his focus has been on helping federal agencies meet requirements to consolidate and modernize IT infrastructure, and pursue “cloud first” strategies. In addition to managing the first federal line of business in ten years, Dan also leads a government-wide Data Center Community of Practice. This group provides a forum for data center subject matter experts at executive agencies to collaborate on optimization strategies and discuss topics such as DCOI annual strategic plans.

Additionally, Dan also functions as the internal CIO of GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy (OGP). Since moving to Washington, DC in 2000, Dan has played a lead role in multiple interagency IT initiatives for GSA, including leading the DotGov Domain Registry, the Federal Real Property Profile (FRPP), Performance.gov, and Data.gov. Dan has also spent time in the Executive Office of the President in both the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of the Senior Adviser to the President.

Dan is a native of Las Vegas and spent his formative years working in local government in Southern Nevada as well as in the Office of the Governor of Nevada. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and holds master’s degrees from the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University, and the National Defense University.
