Danny Connelly

Danny Connelly is the Associate Chief Information Security Officer and Operations Branch Chief serving the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO).
He is directly responsible for the CDC Computer Security Incident Response Team, Cyber Forensic Lab, and continuous monitoring and enterprise firewall teams. During his tenure at CDC, he has architected, implemented and optimized cyber security operational capabilities to effectively detect, prevent and respond to today’s ever changing cyber security threats.
Prior to joining CDC, Mr. Connelly spent 5 years serving as a key member of the Department Of Energy (DOE) Cyber Security Penetration Testing Team, focused on attacking critical DOE facilities and Infrastructure. He led numerous engagements for both classified and unclassified targets and participated in many covert operations emulating nation state threat actor TTPs.
Mr. Connelly holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems and an M.S. degree in Information Assurance.
