As Chief Operating Officer of REI Systems, Gregory Garrett will drive operational strategies, optimize processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across the organization. With an illustrious career spanning over 25 years, Gregg Garrett is a seasoned veteran in IT, cybersecurity, and systems engineering. His extensive expertise encompasses strategic business planning, mergers and acquisitions, business development, contracts, operations, and program management, affecting over $40 billion globally. His contributions to the field were recently recognized when he was named one of the “Top 10 Most Dynamic Cybersecurity Leaders in the U.S.” by Executive Gov Magazine.
Prior to REI Systems, Gregg was the Vice President of Cybersecurity Services & Solutions at Peraton, where he supported a team of over 3,000 professionals delivering $4 billion in IT and cybersecurity programs to U.S. government agencies. During his four-year tenure, Peraton’s cyber revenues increased significantly, earning him the “2023 & 2024 Cyber Defenders” award from MeriTalk for his outstanding cybersecurity leadership contributions in support of Defense, Space, Health, Intelligence, Civilian, State & local government agencies nationwide and internationally.
Gregg served as the Head of U.S. & International Cybersecurity at BDO USA LLP, where he led and supported a global team of 2,000 professionals and expanded cybersecurity advisory services and managed security services from $50 million to $500 million annually. Prior to BDO, he was President & General Manager at UIC Corporation, overseeing IT and cybersecurity for a $1 billion Alaska Native Corporation and managing three IT and cyber companies. He also held roles as a Managing Director & COO at Navigant Consulting, where he increased the Government Services practice from a $25 million business to $200 million. At Lucent Technologies, Garrett served as CIO & CISO and VP of IT Program Management, significantly boosting revenue and managing large-scale IT and telecommunications programs worldwide.
Gregg holds a B.S. in Chemistry & Engineering Physics at Miami University, an M.S. in Systems Engineering Management at the University of Southern California, and a Master’s Certification in Government Contracts at the George Washington University. He also completed Executive Education at Stanford University. As a published author of 24 business and technology books, Garrett continues to influence the field with his extensive knowledge and leadership. Outside of work Gregg enjoys research and writing, serving on the Advisory Board for the George Mason University, Government Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, providing IT and cyber guest lectures at the Georgetown University, traveling with his family around the world, and spending time with his granddaughter.
