Kirit Amin
International Trade Commission
Kirit M. Amin is the chief information officer of the U.S. International Trade Commission. He manages the commission’s information technology activities. From November 2012 until just recently, Amin was deputy chief information officer and chief technology officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Before that, he was chief technology and innovation officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and CIO and director of the Office of Consular Systems and Technology at the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs.
Before government service, Amin was corporate senior vice president of Nortel PEC Solutions from 1996-2006, where he led the data systems unit and served as president of Vector Research prior to its merger with PEC.
He was president and CEO of Infotech, Inc., an engineering services company he founded, from 1994-1996. From 1979-1995, Amin held posts at Computer Sciences Corp., including director of deployment and operations for the company. Earlier, he held positions with Honeywell and ASEA (Sweden), Ltd. Amin holds a master’s of science (executive) degree in technology management from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in electrical engineering from M.S. University in Baroda.
