Tom Wilson

Current Role
Tom is a Principal Data Center Facilities Consultant and IT Systems Architect and Engineer for Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Data Center Facilities Services Group. He has over 35 years of experience in the Federal, Department of Defense and Commercial Computing Industries. Tom is an experienced open IT systems architect and engineer providing Data Center Facilities design, networked systems architecture, design, engineering, systems migration, installation and integration and technical leadership for his customer base. His current focus is in the Strategic Planning, Architectural Design and Systems Engineering of Data Center Facilities. Tom’s IT experience coupled with Data Center Facilities design experience allows him to provide sound Strategic Planning and Consulting that effectively couple right sized data centers and complex computing environments.

Experience
Tom has been with HPE since 1983. Tom started his career with Digital Equipment Corporation as a Field Service Engineer providing hardware break- fix, installation, facilities planning and design, operating systems support and systems implementation services primarily to Federal and DOD customer base.

Tom moved from the Field Services Organization to the Network Systems Consulting and Implementation Services group where he provided IT systems architecture, design, engineering, implementation, migration, consulting; Data Center strategy, design and planning services; and Program Management. During Tom’s fifteen year tenure as a Sr. Technology Consultant and Strategist he provided support to the US Navy and SPAWAR, US Army and the Corp of Engineers, US Air Force, US Marine Corps, US Joint Forces Command, US Strategic Command, US Pacific Command, US Special Operations Command, DISA, DIA, and DARPA.

Tom’s most recent assignment has been with HPE’s Data Center Facilities Services group (HPE DCF). This group is made of the EYP Mission Critical Facilities Company that HPE acquired in 2007. As a Principal Consultant for HPE DCF Tom has provided Data Center Facilities Strategic Planning, Consulting and Design services to the US Navy, US Army, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, National Institutes of Health, US Department of State, US Marine Corps and large commercial corporations.

Personal
Tom lives in Smithfield, VA with his wife, Tonya. He enjoys all outdoor activities and is an avid fisherman.
