Yemi Oshinnaiye

Yemi began his career at USCIS OIT in January of 2012, where he helped migrate the Verification Information System (VIS) from the Meriden data center to DHS DC1. Leveraging his background in operations and software development, he supported the optimization and subsequent production deployment of one of USCIS’ major systems into DC1.When he served as Chief of Biometrics, he led utilization of Secondary Inspection Tool biometric scanning for Field Operations. His team worked with Office of Biometric Information Management (OBIM) on implementation and later developed an in-house tool integrated with the Customer Profile Management System (CPMS) that provided USCIS with the enhanced capabilities and enhanced performance.

As Associate Chief of Systems Operations in OIT’s software development division, Yemi ensured that software projects were technically proficient and maximized integration and re-use. The systems operations team aggressively implemented agile practices and continuous delivery process and maintained consistent cadences on legacy and modernized systems. Yemi was also responsible for customer interface to large constituency in USCIS, including Customer Service and Public Engagement, OCOMM, Records, Biometrics Division, Field Operations and Service Center Operations.

Prior to arriving at USCIS, Yemi was an entrepreneur and provided IT support, software development and telephony services to local government, non-profits and health organizations.

As Chief of the Enterprise Infrastructure Division (EID), Yemi has extended the cloud services platform to more systems, expanded automated deployment capabilities and provided increased customer visibility into the cloud and architecture capabilities.

Yemi is also a proud Georgetown University graduate and native of New Jersey.
