Data Center Shift to Cloud

The shift toward a cloud-ready data center is underway across government – agencies are focused on agile and automated solutions to help meet mission and mandate requirements. Architecture, standards, and policy need to adapt to keep the transition to cloud moving forward. The end result should provide agencies with the ability to increase focus on services with less time spent managing hardware, and increase in cost savings – with the potential to create new opportunities for innovation. Which agencies are moving rapidly toward this shift, and what best practices do they have in place enabling them to succeed? Where do challenges still exist? What is still needed to support this shift? As agencies build cloud-ready data centers, what steps are being taken to ensure resources are shared and secure? What type of efficiency improvements and cost benefits can agencies expect?
