The General Services Administration’s 10X organization has chosen its next 22 ideas that will receive funding and further development work with an umbrella goal of improving how the Federal government uses technology to better serve citizens.

10X, which is part of GSA’s Technology Transformation Services (TTS) operation, is in the business of crowdsourcing good ideas from Federal government employees, and then directing more resources to their development. Among the group’s business incubation success stories since it started up in 2015 are login.gov, and the U.S. Web Design System.

The ideas chosen by 10X this time around – it selects new ideas every six months – came from a pool of more than 250 submissions.

The ideas picked up for further development “will receive phased funding to build technology for the public good and align with government-wide priorities of rebuilding public trust with the government, protecting the environment, and promoting equitable public service,” GSA said. “These ideas will turn good-for-government ideas into good-for-people solutions,” the agency added.

Among the latest 22 ideas:

  • Reimagining access to government services, with a focus on making it easier for citizens to navigate government benefits processes;
  • Broadband for underserved populations, taking a look at how the government’s current wireless broadband network for public safety communications can be used to fill current broadband service gaps;
  • A “Futures Toolkit” that aims to integrate the “Design Futures” methodology into technology development projects to address both current tech problems along with goals that are likely to emerge in the future; and
  • A government technology hiring toolkit that will help Federal agencies with hiring and outreach efforts to fill tech-related positions.

The full list of new ideas is available from 10X.
