The Department of Defense (DoD) has appointed Nora Christine Dillman as the new deputy director of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Dillman announced via a LinkedIn post on Sunday.
In her new role as deputy director of the CIO office, Dillman will play a key role in shaping and overseeing the Pentagon’s information technology strategy.
Dillman has held several pivotal roles in information technology and management across various government agencies, including key positions within DoD.
Her most recent role came as the associate deputy assistant administrator at the Drug Enforcement Administration, where she was responsible for overseeing critical aspects of data standardization, software engineering, project management, and executing large-scale IT projects.
Dillman also served as the senior product manager with the Department of Commerce and played a key role in enhancing data applications and systems at the Department of Treasury.
Within DoD, Dillman worked with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where she contributed to strategic IT initiatives, and with the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Mobility Program Management Office, where she managed mobility and communication solutions.
In addition to her public sector experience, Dillman has worked several stints in the private sector, including a role with Oddball, a service-disabled veteran-owned business dedicated to the digital modernization of federal services. Her early career includes work as a data applications developer at Advance Business Systems, where she developed essential skills in technology and data management.
