With the 116th session of Congress now well underway, committee and subcommittee rosters are being finalized. For those in the Fed IT world, there are a few committee assignments to pay attention to.

  • The House Committee on Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence, Emerging Threats, and Capabilities will see new leadership with Rep. Jim Langevin, D-R.I., taking over the top spot and Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., becoming the ranking member.
  • On Judiciary’s Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet Subcommittee, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., will step in as chair. In the previous Congress, Johnson proposed election and electric grid security legislation.
  • There are a few high-profile Committees, including House Energy and Commerce, Oversight and Reform, Homeland Security, Science, and Intelligence that have yet to announce either the full committee leadership or subcommittee leadership.
