The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has appointed Billy Bob Brown Jr. Assistant Director for Emergency Communications.

Brown has been a Supervisory Program Analyst at CISA – and before that at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) parent agency – for 12 years. He has served as Associate Director of the Priority Telecommunications Services Sub-division in CISA’s Emergency Communications Division, and Program Manager of the Next Generation Networks Priority Service Phase 1 Program. Brown is a 20-year Marine Corps veteran who graduated from the Air Force Academy.

“Billy Bob’s experience in working with emergency communications stakeholders will enable our continued efforts to ensure CISA stakeholders have access to the full range of services within the Agency,” said CISA Director Christopher Krebs in announcing the appointment on Oct. 9. “Our emergency communications leadership will continue emphasizing quality customer service and excellence in technical expertise,” he said.
