The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) announced on July 8 an award that will add 23 small businesses to the agency’s $7.5 billion Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation (SETI) contract.

SETI aims to advance the Defense Department’s (DoD’s) technological research, developments, and advancements, particularly in the sphere of IT.

“The SETI multiple-award task order contract indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity is designed for current and future mission requirements, next-generation technological advancements, and disruptive innovation that looks to create paradigm shifts in the ways warfighters interaction with DoD’s information technology,” DISA said.

DISA initially awarded SETI contracts to 14 large companies in June 2018 through an unrestricted pool. Although the restricted pool of awardees was expected in the final quarter of fiscal year 2018, DISA finalized its list of 23 small business this week.
