Lily Zeleke, the Department of Defense’s (DoD) deputy chief information officer for enterprise IT (DCIO(IE), stepped down from that role on Feb. 22 and took over new responsibilities in the Department’s CIO office, Cmdr. Tim Gorman, a Pentagon spokesperson, told MeriTalk via email today.
“On Feb. 22, Ms. Lily Zeleke took over new responsibilities in the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer organization. Mr. Bill Dunlap is now serving as the acting DCIO(IE),” the email reads.
Dunlap, who served under Zeleke as the information enterprise office’s principal director, is now the acting deputy CIO for information enterprise, Gorman said. Zeleke held that same acting title for most of 2022 before formally taking the deputy CIO role last December.
In her role as the DCIO IE, Zeleke oversaw the rollout and implementation of the DoD’s first ever enterprise-wide cloud computing contracts – the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability – to Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle.
The department has not provided any further information regarding Zeleke’s new post at the DoD’s CIO office.
