The Energy Department (DoE) is making strides in its unclassified cybersecurity program, according to a DoE Inspector General (IG) semiannual report released today.

The 51-page report didn’t cite any notable critique of DoE’s IT, but the IG said the department made progress in addressing recommendations it had made in 2017 regarding DoE’s unclassified cybersecurity stature.

“We determined that actions were taken to correct issues related to access controls, system integrity of Web applications, and configuration and vulnerability management of desktop and network systems and devices,” the IG said.

The IG added that these actions resolved numerous prior weaknesses in programs and sites across DoE.
