Defending Digital Campaigns (DDC), a new nonprofit dedicated to providing affordable cybersecurity products, services, and information, announced its first president, CEO, and board members on Oct. 31. Michael Kaiser, who formerly served as the executive director of the National Cyber Security Alliance, will be DDC’s president and CEO. “I am honored to be selected as DDC’s first president and CEO,” said Kaiser. “Protecting campaigns from cybersecurity threats is essential to our democratic process. Our goal is to make it easier and expeditious for campaigns to implement better cybersecurity practices.” DDC also announced three new board members: Ron Gula, president and co-founder of Gula Tech Adventures; Allen Blue, co-founder of LinkedIn; and Suzanne Spaulding, senior advisor for homeland security at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and previously head of the Department of Homeland Security’s National Protection and Programs Directorate – which has since become the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
