The House Rules Committee, newly controlled by Democrats, today announced a rules package that changes the name of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., chairman of the committee, said in a statement he was pleased by the name change, which he said better reflects the committee’s “true jurisdiction, which covers both government and the private sector.” On the committee’s agenda, he said, are investigations of “waste, fraud, and abuse in the Trump administration,” among other issues.
