NIST to Hold Cybersecurity Framework Workshop

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a Cybersecurity Framework Workshop May 16-17. This workshop will serve as an opportunity to provide comments and discuss the Framework Draft V1.1; a forum for participants to learn from each other’s experiences with the framework; and an update on framework-related policy issues and the progress of technical work that may shape future enhancements. Those interested in attending have until May 9 to register.

CSRA to Help EPA on Environmental Modeling

CSRA received a $58 million contract on April 18 to help the Environmental Protection Agency manage its high-performance computing systems and laboratory projects that specifically focus on environmental modeling and visualization. The EPA uses high-performance computing to track airborne contaminants and screen for potential toxicity. CSRA is partnering with ARA, an engineering company based in Albuquerque, N.M., for this contract.

Raytheon Gets Navy Standard Missile Contract

The U.S. Navy recently awarded Raytheon a contract with a ceiling value of $466 million. Under the contract, the company will provide engineering and technical services on the Standard Missile-2, SM-3, and SM-6 ship-based missile defense interceptors. The cost-plus-fixed-fee award has a base value of  $113.2 million and could potentially last for four years. Eight countries other than the U.S. have deployed SM-2 weapons: Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, and Taiwan.
