The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) has appointed long-term IT expert Stacie Alboum as deputy director of enterprise strategy in FDIC’s Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO).
In the new role, Alboum will work on leading development of the financial agency’s IT strategic plan. The FDIC has already issued an IT strategic plan for the 2020-2023 timeframe identifying opportunities for the CIOO to improve internal operations in a constantly evolving IT environment.
The plan is organized around four strategic themes that impact business operation at all levels: effective communication, strategic focus, excellent service delivery, and organizational engagement.
Collaborating and partnering with IT and business leadership, leading customer engagement efforts, and assessing the CIOO’s demand and capacity management, also will be among Alboum’s focus areas.
In taking the new position, Alboum will be leaving the National Institutes of Health IT office after five years as the agency’s deputy director where she provided leadership, management, and oversight for NIH’s enterprise computational infrastructure and services that enable NIH’s biomedical research mission.
Before her time at NIH, Alboum spent 11 years at the National Science Foundation, first as an IT specialist and later as a branch chief for security, architecture, policy, and plans. Alboum has also served at the Energy Department and the Office of Management and Budget.
