Security is the great white whale of Federal IT–even as we make progress, it is just out of reach. Late last month, Zscaler announced it had prioritized rigorous security standards by achieving the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2, Type II Certification.
The certification goes beyond checking a box for the company. Stephen Kovac, vice president for global government and compliance at Zscaler says it demonstrates a deeper commitment “to ensuring that our global customers and partners are able to meet diverse compliance requirements.”
SOC 2 compliance verifies that Zscaler security controls meet American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ applicable Trust Services Principles and Criteria. Certified companies have established oversight, monitor unusual system activity, and have procedures in place in case of an incident.
