Army Awards $130 Million for Software Products and Maintenance 

The U.S. Army announced Nov. 7 that technology companies Four, Immix Technology, and Carahsoft will share a $130 million contract modification. The modification is to provide the Army with commercially available-off-the-shelf software products and maintenance that have obtained a full Certificate of Networthiness through the Army’s Network Command networthiness process in the following categories: IT Utility and Security; Modeling and Simulation; Multimedia and Design; and Program and Development.

AWS Brings C5 Instances

Amazon Web Services announced on Nov. 6 the availability of C5 instances, the next generation of compute optimized instances for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), which is designed for compute-heavy applications like batch processing, distributed analytics, high-performance computing (HPC), ad serving, highly scalable multiplayer gaming, and video encoding. This product offers twice the vCPUs and memory of previous generation C4 instances.

DISA Awards 20 Companies $17.5 Billion Encore III IT Services IDIQ

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) awarded 20 companies positions on a potential 10-year, $17.5 billion contract vehicle for IT products and services for IT modernization efforts at the Defense Department and other Federal agencies. The 20 companies included in the full and open track of the Encore III, Indefinite-Delivery/ Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract are 22nd Century Technologies, AASKl Technology, Ace Info Solutions ActioNet, AECOM’s XNet business, Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI International’s Federal business, CSRA, ECS Federal, General Dynamics’ One Source subsidiary, IAP C4ISR, IndraSoft, Leidos, ManTech International’s advanced systems business, NES Associates, NetCentrics, Next Tier Concepts, Phacil, Qbase, and Solers.
