The Department of the Air Force announced on Monday it awarded a $303 million contract to Leidos to oversee the department’s Advanced Battle Management System – Digital Infrastructure (ABMS-DI) network, which is a key piece in the Defense Department’s (DoD’s) Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiative.

In June 2022, the Air Force established a consortium of companies – including Leidos – to assist in developing requirements for the ABMS-DI. Through this effort, the companies are helping to design, develop, and deploy modern JADC2 capabilities for the Air Force and Space Force.

Today’s contract announcement extends Leidos’ collaborative role with the Air Force in its JADC2 efforts.

“For battle managers to make faster and better-informed decisions, they need government and commercial technologies to work together seamlessly,” Roy Stevens, Leidos National Security Sector president, said in an Oct. 7 press release.

“We will lead the secure, rapid integration of cloud computing, data analytics, and communications capabilities so that our airmen and Guardians have the tactical, operational, and strategic data they need,” Stevens added.

The Air Force’s Program Executive Officer Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management awarded the contract, which covers a three-year performance period with two option years.

As ABMS-DI network manager, Leidos said it will perform “a wide range of management functions to support the successful standup of the digital infrastructure network.”
