The Department of Defense and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) today released a draft request for quotations (RFQ) for the $7.8 billion Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS) contract. The deadline for responses is February 15.

The draft RFQ states that DEOS will be a “single-award Firm-Fixed Price Blanket Purchase Agreement.”

DEOS “will replace the existing DoD Unified Capabilities (UC) efforts and encompass a more comprehensive set of voice, video and data services as the Department moves towards a Joint Information Environment,” the RFQ notes. The contract will be a major move into the cloud for the Pentagon, involving both non-classified and classified networks.

The contract will use the General Service Administration’s IT Schedule 70 contract. DoD CIO Dana Deasy noted back in November that IT Schedule 70 “will allow the DoD to transition to the cloud with less schedule risk, and at a lower cost.”
